Amulet Ring: Tawaret

A hand-carved aquamarine sculpture of the Ancient Egyptian god Taweret set in a rich 22-karat gold bezel with a sleek, modern design. Round diamonds accent the setting and a slice of fine sterling silver sits under the carving to maintain the perfect color. Loren said, "The hippo in Ancient Egypt was a powerful and respected creature known for being a fierce protector of their children and guardian of the Nile River. I wanted to create an amulet of this animal, in particular, because of my love for William, the famous faience hippo statue at the Met, where I worked as a conservator. William inspired the use of aquamarine to achieve the calming blue color." Our carved amulets are some of our most loved pieces.
